This evening, I am posting images of more colourful May-time blooms, this time from Rouken Glen, south of Glasgow. These range from subtle pastels to vibrant reds. The rhododendrons are particularly prominent. These plants are not native to Scotland but imported from the Himalayas in the 19th century and have since dispersed and flourished on a grand scale, falling somewhere between a pest and a vibrant colour display in Springtime. This year we are benefiting from a particularly colourful display of cherry blossom.
