This morning, June 11th., we departed our lodgings and then:

  • Drove a short distance into Inveraray¬† for a stroll around this quaint and popular little little town which dates from the 18th century.

This morning, June 9th.,we departed our Inverness lodgings and drove south for about 30 mins to Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness. This is probably the best location for viewing Loch Ness, being located about half way along the Loch and on a promontory standing out into the Loch.See image below.This visitor attraction is well managed and provides visitors with a short film showing the history of the castle. Weather was cold but dry. See image at foot of this post.

After Urquhart we continued south along the Great Glen through Fort Augustus to Fort William where we availed of lunch.

Today, June 8th, we departed Dunkeld, central Scotland and drove up to Pitlochry to visit Edradour Distillery, Scotland’s smallest where joined in a small group tour of this popular and interesting little distillery. This proved a good experience and after some purchases at the Distillery shop we headed north.
