Today, the arctic weather continued with temperatures well below zero albeit without further snow. This extreme cold is debilitating so I stayed in and contented myself with photos of wildlife in the garden. I was surprised by the diversity of bird-life. The descriptions below are accurate to best of my knowledge. At this time of year the harsh winter conditions can take a terrible toll of wildlife so we always try to keep the bird table well stocked. However, the squirrels take advantage but there is little we can do to stop them.
