Today, with promise of sunshine and snowy landscape I decided to visit Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital primarily to obtain some seasonal images. The weather was indeed¬† favourable leading to a successful trip, albeit in temperatures hovering around zero centigrade.

Here is Calton Hill with a covering of snow. On the left is the National Monument (1822) whilst tower on right (1816) is in shape of an upturned telescope as a memorial to Lord Nelson.

Here is the modern and somewhat controversial architecture of the Scottish Parliament building which was completed in 2004.

Here is an interesting vista. In foreground is the Royal high School (1825-9) then Calton Hill monuments then Firth of Forth and finally the Fife Coast in background.

Here is the famous Edinburgh Castle which sits atop the City on the core of long defunct volcano.
