Classic A 30 Motor Car ready for Monte Carlo Rally

This morning I travelled down into central Glasgow the wide array of classic cars parked in George Square in readiness for start of the world famous Monte Carlo classic rally which has attracted a total of 49 entrants from around Europe.

Today is the first time in 38 years that the rally has started in Glasgow.  The cars have to follow a route which takes them over the Alps in winter to Monte Carlo where the winner is crowned.

Above and below is just a selection from the wide range of cars on display and which date back to the 1970s and earlier. Strangely, the little Austin A30 has proved the most popular on my Flickr posts. I am personally attracted by the sleek lines of the Jaguars.

Elsewhere, on the touring front, seem to have made considerable progress in arranging a private coach tour of Scotland and England for a family group. Also quoted for some two short tours of the Highlands.
