This morning, we departed our overnight lodgings at Inveraray and progressed northwards as follows:

Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe. Impressive ruin which we viewed from the road.

Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. Rugged Highland scenery and link with historic 1692 massacre of over 30 members of Clan MacDonald. We called in at the Visitor Centre and then drove through the village which sits on edge of Loch Leven.

Fort William tracking Loch Linnhe. First we drove down Glen Nevis past the base of Ben Nevis to visit Lower Falls then back to Fort William for shopping.

Castle Urquhart  on Loch Ness. The best spot to view this famous site. We availed of light refreshment here.

Inverness. This is self-styled capital of the Highlands. Shopping, exploring and dinner then to our overnight lodgings.

On our travels today we encountered a very serious road accident near Drumnadrochit and near miss with a deer running along the road. Weather was mixed with sunshine and occasional heavy showers.
