This morning, I collected my small group from their Edinburgh lodgings and then drove out of Edinburgh, across the Forth Bridge and then east first stopping at Lower Largo which was the home of Alexander Selkirk, real world role model for Robinson Crusoe.

Next, on to Anstruther, a popular coastal village with a large marina. This town is famous for the Anstruther Fish Bar, so we stopped here for lunch and indulged the fish and chips.

Next, on to St Andrews. On arrival we stopped to visit the ancient Cathedral and Castle and then on to the other end of town to visit the famous Old Course, and Royal & Ancient, home of golf.

Next, into central Scotland via Dundee. We managed to arrive at Edradour Distillery just in time for the last tour at 4.00pm and all agreed this was a good experience.

Finally we headed north up the A9 to Grantown-on-Spey and our lodgings for the night.

Overall, a good day with weather progressively improving.
