Bloodhound Supersonic Car

Bloodhound, 1000 mph Supersonic Car

This evening, I am focusing on the latest attempt on the World Landspeed Record as manifested in the Bloodhound project with a car capable of speeds of > 1,000 mph. The image above is of a fibre-glass mock-up of the 7.5 tonne vehicle which will be powered by no less than three engines.

The current speed target is 763.035 mph set by Thrust SSC in 1997. The Bloodhound team led by Richard Noble (project director) and Andy Green (driver) will attempt to beat the current record in runs across the South African desert in 2013  and 2014.
