Tortoiseshell Butterfly at Greenbank Garden

This afternoon, I cycled round to The National Trust of Scotland’s property at Greenbank, south of Glasgow.

This house and garden date from the late 18th century and have not been subject to much change since 1771. The house is not normally open to the public but the garden is open all year round. There are 4000 named cultivars and the garden holds the National Collection of bergenias plus a large narcissus collection.
