This evening, I am departing from my usual tourism and sightseeing theme to cover a serious fire which I encountered by chance about 1.00pm this afternoon in the Centre of Glasgow, Scotland, close to Central Railway Station.

I had spent most of the morning copying grave markers at Ramshorn Church Burial Ground in connection with my separate Ancestry Blog. Upon returning through central Glasgow, the air became increasingly acrid. As I approached Central Station and Gordon Street it became evident that a major fire was evolving at the Blue Lagoon Fish and Chip Shop. After a short while the emergency services (police and fire) arrived and began to take control.

The following two video clips record the fire.
