This morning, we were forced to re-schedule today’s planned schedule owing to very poor weather on Isle of Skye.¬† We departed our Portree lodgings and headed north via Wester Ross and Loch Carron via Dingwall to Inverness and then on to Loch Ness. The weather progressively improved as the morning unfolded.

We stopped at Loch Carron by which time there was some marginal improvement in the weather which permitted some photos.

Here guests connected with the tour boat down to Castle Urquhart. By this time the weather had improved further with added bonus of some spectacular rainbows near Castle Urquhart.

Next we continued down Loch Ness and then through some stunning Highland scenery to the famous Eilean Donan Castle which was floodlit by time of our arrival although we did manage to have a reasonable photo session.

Finally, we arrived at our lodgings at Kyle of Lochalsh.

Tomorrow, with benefit of improved weather, we plan to re-visit northern Skye.
