All Saints Church, Evesham, England

This evening, I am focusing on All Saints Church, Evesham in central England. Now Anglican, this church ¬†was originally constructed by Benedictine monks from the nearby abbey as a place of worship for the local populace. Post Reformation of 1540 worship followed the Puritan style through to late 1870s when a High Church, Anglo-Catholic, style of worship was adopted. Post merger with the adjacent St. Lawrence’s church in 1977 a ‘middle churchmanship’ worship was adopted. All Saints is the Parish Church of Evesham, Worcestershire.

The building dates from the 12th century and was subject to a major restoration in 1872-7 by Frederick Preedy.
