Corstorphine Hill Tower, Edinburgh, Scotland

This evening, I am posting information on Corstorphine Hill Tower which is also known as:

  • Clermiston Tower
  • Scott Tower

This tower is 20m in height. It was constructed in 1871 to commemorate famous Scottish romantic novelist and poet, Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832).

The high elevation location (near Edinburgh) offers stunning views over Fife (county) Isle of May, Pentland Hills and the Trossachs. Opening hours are restricted.

The tower is built of locally sourced coarsed whinstone and dressed sandstone.
