This morning, we departed our lodgings in Grantown-on-Spey in the Highlands and stopped, briefly for a photo stop near the River Spey.

Next, we drove south for about 90 minutes to Blair Castle in Perthshire, ancestral home of the Duke of Atholl. Here guests toured the castle which has a history dating back to about AD 1200. This castle is also home to the Atholl Highlanders, Britains’s only legal private army.

Glenfarclas Distillery, Scotland

This morning, we departed our lodgings in Grantown-on-Spey and drove north to Dufftown in in order to connect with the 10.00 am tour of Balvenie Distillery. This particular tour lasted about three hours and provided a very in-depth introduction to the whisky making process culminating in tastings of various single malts.
