Group ‘photo at Forth Bridges, Scotland

This morning, we departed our lodgings in Inverness and proceeded as follows:

  • Firstly, we drove south for about 40 minutes to Tomatin Distillery. Here the group participated in a tour of the distillery and made various purchases including self-bottling of whisky straight from the cask.

  • Next, we continued south for about 45 minutes to Cairngorm Mountain near Aviemore. Here we rode up the mountain face to 3600 feet in the funicular railway and availed of lunch with superb views of the Cairngorms scenery.

  • After returning down the mountain, via the railway, we continued south stopping at the central Scotland town of Pitlochry for refreshments. Here purchases of kilts and Highland wear were made.

  • Next, we continued south, exiting the Highlands, stopping first at South Queensferry for a break and to admire the two Forth Bridges. This was also a good location for a photo shoot.

  • Finally, we reached destination of Leith, near Edinburgh, where guests checked into their apartment.
  • Tomorrow, the group visit Alnwick Castle in England.
