Eastwood Ramblers at Pollok, Glasgow

This evening, I am providing a portfolio of images relative to today’s hike around Pollok Country Park and environs in Glasgow’s Southside region.

The route connected with a diverse range of places and environments most of which have a direct link with the Maxwell family who dominated the area for some 700 years, viz:

  • The 146 hectare Pollok Country Park. This was donated to Glasgow City by the Maxwell family.
  • Victorian philanthropist, Sir John Stirling Maxwell who founded both Pollokshields Burgh Hall and Pollokshaws Burgh Hall.
  • Ponds.
  • Allotments.
  • Maxwell Park.
  • Clydesdale Horse.
  • Architecture.
  • Masonic Symbols.

A well patronised hike which enjoyed clement weather.
