This evening, I am focusing on the remote King’s House Hotel in the Scottish Highlands.

The King’s House is situated on the edge of Rannoch Moor, slightly to the north of the A82 highway, between Tyndrum and Glencoe. Although off the main road, the hotel is/was  situated on a trail forming an old cattle drove road and military road and hence was a well positioned for people traffic moving up and down the Highlands in days past. Today, the old trail forms part of the West Highland Way, a hiking trail which runs between Glasgow and Fort William and, as such, the hotel is well positioned to cater for the steady stream of hikers.
