Auldhouse Burn, Rouken Glen, Glasgow, Scotland

This evening, I visited the Electric Glen light show at Rouken Glen in Glasgow’s Southside, Scotland.

Rouken Glen is an extensive public park comprising a mix of grassy public spaces, a boating pond, waterfall, walkways and walled garden. The park has a history dating back to the 16th century when the Auldhouse Burn (stream) powered a meal mill then known as Rock End Meal Mill which later became corrupted to ‘Rouken’. The same burn was harnessed to power a printworks downstream at Thornliebank in the 19th century.
