Ubiquitous Chip, Ashton Lane, Glasgow, Scotland

This evening, I am posting information on one of Glasgow’s top restaurants.

Located in the trendy- and slightly Bohemian – West End of Glasgow, the Ubiquitous Chip has a history dating back to 1971 when it was founded by Ronnie Clydesdale.

Over the years the restaurant has championed Scottish dishes with emphasis on Scotland’s regions. Products are sourced from specialist suppliers. There is an extensive wine cellar and a wine club.

The theme is good food and drink, living and culture.

Inside can be found three bars and two restaurants.

The core building was originally a stables for a firm of undertakers. The apparently ‘disjointed’ interior layout is due to the progressive expansion via acquisition of neighbouring properties.
