This afternoon, I embarked on a fascinating trip along the route of Glen Quaich in Central Scotland. Weather was superb, with brilliant sunshine reflecting off the snow capped hills and mountains allied with a blue with some white cloud formations.

The road took me from the village of Amulree to Kenmore on the northern tip of Loch Tay in Perthshire. This was single track road with few other vehicles, in fact I encountered more hikers than cars.

On the way I encountered low lying snow, many sheep, grouse and other birds, a reservoir and a small loch (lake). The key for me was the exceptional opportunities for photographs in this remote environment.

Incidentally, Quaich means a drinking cup. In a certain place the landscape is shaped like a bowl.
