Today, we departed our lodgings in Felinfach near Brecon and drove north to our first objective of Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall in the north of the country. This leg of the trip took about 2 hours 30 mins. The waterfall is located in a remote spot accessible only via narrow and winding roads which entailed slow going albeit with benefit of stunning views of the countryside which was heavily populated with sheep. We also encountered a few pheasants.

The waterfall was impressive with location offering superb view of the local valley.

Next, we moved on to a second objective of the Pontcysylite Aqueduct, near Llangollen. This impressive example of engineering dates from 1795 and still functions today as a link between canals.Surprisingly, for a World Heritage Site, the aqueduct proved difficult to find due to absence of local signage, but we eventually reached it and found the experience rewarding.
