This evening, I am posting information on Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, Scotland.

Bruichladdich is located on the western side of Islay, on the shore of Loch Indaal, opposite Bowmore.

Summary information on Bruichladdich:

  • Established in 1881.
  • Over the years has experienced numerous ownership changes with most recent in 2012 when control passed to Remy Cointreau of France.
  • Capacity is 1.5m litres p.a.
  • Equipped with an open cast iron mash tun, six washbacks made of Oregon Pine, two pairs of stills and a rare Lomond still used for the production of Gin.
  • Has own, on site bottling plant.
  • Produced three main product lines:
    • Unpeated Bruichladdich
    • Moderately peated Port Charlotte
    • Heavily peated Octomore
