Hidcote Manor Garden

This evening, I am posting a selection of images consequent upon a recent visit to Hidcote Manor Gardens in the Cotswolds region of England.

Hidcote ranks as one of England’s premier gardens. Summary background information as follows:

  • Created over a period of some 40 years commencing 1907 by wealthy, Lawrence Johnston.
  • A ‘garden of rooms’ influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.
  • Contains plants and trees collected by Johnston during his extensive, plant-hunting¬†travels around the world.
  • Within the garden can be found Roses, Echium, Meconopsis and Lupins.
  • Visitors are drawn in through a network of narrow pathways into intricate and secluded gardens featuring plants and flowers rich in diversity.
  • The subtle and vibrant colours provide superb opportunities for photography throughout the seasons.
  • Owned by heritage organisation, The National Trust and open to the public.
  • Near to Chipping Campden.
