Doune Castle

This morning, we departed our Garntown-on-Spey lodgings and drove south to our first stop, at Corgarff Castle, This castle was built in the 16th century and thereafter a chequered history including clan warfare, Jacobite uprising, a British military Redcoat fort, ruin and restoration as a visitor attraction. the location offers excellent views over the local landscape.

Tour Group

This morning, August 18th., we departed our Fort William lodgings and proceeded as follows: First, a tour down nearby Glen Nevis past base of Ben Nevis (mountain) to Lower Falls where we stopped for photos. We encountered sheep wandering along the road.
