This morning, we departed our lodgings in Perth and proceeded as follows:

  • First we drove north for about 30 mins to Dunkeld in Central Scotland. Our objective here was the Cathedral Church which stands resplendent on the bank of the fast flowing River Tay, surrounded by hills and forest trees. The building dates from the period 1260-1501 but suffered serious damage at time of the 1560 Reformation. Repairs and restoration work was undertaken in succeeding centuries. However, about half of the structure remains without a roof, a legacy of the physical damage from the┬áReformation.
