Today,Oct 28th., was characterised by heavy and persistent rain allied with strong westerly winds, unfortunately exactly as predicted. We covered about 20 miles in these unpleasant conditions, getting soaked to the skin, in the process, notwithstanding layers of waterproof attire. To an extent, the hostile conditions proved invigorating and on arrival at our target of Silloth we were able to unwind in a refreshing hot bath.
