Royal Apartments, Stirling Castle, Scotland

This morning, we commenced our tour at Ayr, south of Glasgow and then drove up to central Scotland.

First stop was the medieval fortress of Stirling Castle. Here we visited external aspects and then Royal Apartments (recently restored with character actors for interpretation), Great Hall, Kitchens and Tapestry Weaving Studio. With benefit of excellent visibility, good views were obtained of the Central Plain, Stirling Bridge (battle site) and Wallace Monument.
