Castle Semple Loch, Scotland

This evening, I am posting information on Castle Semple Loch and environs in Renfrewshire, S.W.Scotland.

Location is about twenty miles S.W.of Glasgow.

This is a fascinating area accessible by road, rail or via a dedicated cycle/hiking trail from Paisley. Visitors will be rewarded with a wide range of options including:

  • Historic buildings.
  • Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve with extensive bird-life.
  • Hiking trails and nature.
  • Boating activities on the loch.
  • The pleasant village of Lochwinnoch.

Image below shows ruins of Collegiate Church, a place of worship and learning, which was in use between 1504 and the 1680s. Visited by King James IV of Scotland (1473-1513).
