Horse in Winter, Neilston, Scotland

This evening, I am reporting on today’s small group hike around the snow-covered landscape surrounding the village of Neilston which is situated about 12 miles S.W. of Glasgow in S.W.Scotland. The hike was undertaken with benefit of sunshine and blue skies.

Neilston has a recorded history dating back to the 12th century. During the industrial period textile mills were prominent but today Neilston, with population of about 5000, is essentially a commuter suburb of Glasgow although agriculture remains important as manifested in the Neilston Show, which is, essentially, a rural themed event.

Images presented reflect the winter landscape with a few horses and views of Glasgow and the Campsie Fells ( hills) in the distance.

The hike lasted about 1 hour 30 mins.
