Cycling in Lake District, England

This evening, I am posting a selection of images covering the Lake District region of N.W. England.

The Lake District is an extremely scenic area focused on the county of Cumbria most of which is a National Park extending to 588 square miles.

Here can be found a diverse range of scenery including:

  • Lakes
  • Mountains.
  • Hills
  • Waterfalls
  • Narrow, winding mountain roads
  • Steams and rivers.
  • A Roman Fort.
  • A prehistoric stone circle.
  • Properties associated with author, Beatrix Potter.
  • Landscapes populated with sheep.

The area is suitable for a wide range of activities including boating, hiking, climbing, cycling and photography.
