Seal Colony, Oban Harbour, Scotland

This evening, I am reporting on today’s seal watching and sightseeing trip around Oban Harbour, off the west of Scotland.

This short trip lasted about one hour and encompassed:

  • Views of the ruined Dunollie Castle  (Clan MacDougall).
  • The Hutcheson Monument, an obelisk to a shipping company founder.
  • A salmon farm.
  • Island of Kerrara.
  • Oban Harbour
  • The ‘Dog Stone’, a geological feature which legend suggests was where the giant Fingal tethered his dog, Bran whilst Fingal hunted in the Hebrides.
