This morning, we departed our hotel at Dunblane and embarked on a tour as summarised below.

First to nearby Stirling Castle where we toured all the key aspects including Royal Apartments, Great Hall, Kitchens and Tapestry Studio. In the Royal Apartments we were able to connect with period actors who provided insight into life and times during the 16th century.

Next, we moved to Glasgow and Auchentoshan Distillery where the group enjoyed a tour of the whisky making process from malting and mashing through fermentation, distillation and maturation. This tour culminated in a tasting of the single malt. Opportunity was also taken for a photo shoot in the sunshine. Next we had lunch on outside tables.

Next, we moved on to Tarbet, at the northern end of Loch Lomond where we availed of a boat tour of the northern end of the Loch.This proved a most pleasant experience aided by bright sunshine and stunning scenery.

Next, we moved to Luss at the southern end of Loch Lomond. We stopped here to view the quaint heritage village and scenery aided by the sunny weather.

Finally, we move on into Glasgow Southside for a pre-arranged dinner.

Tomorrow, we visit Edinburgh.
