Garden art at Pollok House Garden, Glasgow

This afternoon, I am posting information on and images of Pollok House Garden in Glasgow, Scotland.

This site is jointly managed by Glasgow City Council and Scotland’s National Trust. These are the gardens of an 18th century Palladian mansion associated with the Maxwell family. Latter have held lands in the area for about 1000 years.

Location is Glasgow Southside, close the famous Burrell Collection, and reached via Pollok Country Park, an extensive public space and recreation area.

As well be evident from the images, the gardens are exceptionally well maintained with a range of formal and informal areas including a vegetable section wherein is grown potatoes, onions, beetroot, soft fruit and other produce.

The site also includes woodland walks and the White Cart Water ( river).

Very pleasant on a dry, sunny day in summer!
