Tonight, I am posting a record of yesterday’s tour which was focused on a day trip on theĀ Jacobite Express Steam Train in the Scottish Highlands.

We departed our hotel in Fort William, drove round to the railway station and joined the 1015 am departure for Mallaig, a fishing village and ferry port in the West of Scotland.

The route traversed coastal Highland scenery including Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil until we reached our first stop ( 30 mins) at Glenfinnan. Next, we continued west then north passing Loch Ailort, Arisaig and Morar until we reached Mallaig. Here we availed of two hours free time until rejoining then train for the return trip to Fort William.

On reaching Fort William we continued our tour south, stopping first for photographs at scenic Glencoe then across Rannoch Moor and down to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs region.

We stopped for dinner at Luss and then moved on to Glasgow where the tour finished and guests deposited at pre-arranged hotels. Just outside Luss we spotted an Owl sitting on the roadside,.
