Red Deer Stag at Blair Castle, Scotland

This afternoon the Catswhiskers team visited a seasonal Art, Craft and Food Fair held at Blair Castle in Perthshire, central Scotland, about 90 miles north of Glasgow.

Blair Castle has a long history and is seat of the Duke of Atholl, a senior Scottish aristocrat. The castle is surrounded by extensive grounds and gardens and is a popular visitor attraction during the tourist season.

Produce and merchandise at the fair included baking from Skye, stained glass from Arbroath and Dalkeith, handcrafted pens from the Scottish Borders and kitchen items from Nairn.

Afterwards I took the opportunity for a short photo session near the castle, principally in and around Diana’s Grove woodlands close to which was a small herd of Red Deer. Weather was characterised by very heavy rain which impacted on quality of photographs.
