Glengoyne Distillery 16 Year Old Single Malt

This evening, I am posting information on Glengoyne Distillery which is located about fifteen miles North of Glasgow in the West of Scotland.

Although Glengoyne is one of Scotland’s smaller whisky distilleries, with a capacity of 1.1m litres p.a.,it attracts a huge number of visitors with around 50,000 persons touring the distillery each year. More information and facts:

  • Located in the Trossachs region at Dumgoyne.
  • Originally licensed in 1833.
  • Has undergone three changes of ownership since establishment but remains in private hands., now owned by Ian Macleod Distillers.
  • The distillery uses one semi-lauter mash tun, six Oregon pine washbacks, one wash still and two spirit stills.
  • Maturation undertaken in ex-sherry casks.
  • Key product is the 15-year-old single malt.Other expressions include 10, 12, 18, 21 and 25 year olds.
  • Visitors are offered seven different tour options ranging from one hour to five hours in duration.
