Highland Cows, East Ayrshire, Scotland

My post tonight covers today’s ¬†five-hour cycle ride around East Ayrshire in S.W.Scotland. This entailed views of:

  • Rolling farmland
  • Herds of Highland Cattle
  • Flocks of sheep, both white face and black face.
  • A Shetland Pony
  • Regular horses
  • Heron
  • Ruined 16th c castle.
  • Fellow cyclist on a GBP 5k (USD 7.5k) road bike
  • Views of snow-capped mountains on Isle of Arran,
  • Firth of Clyde (bay),
  • Ailsa Craig (volcanic plug island).
  • Quaint historic village of Dunlop with 17th c Church.
  • Spring snowdrops.

Visibility was excellent although temperature just above freezing.Encountered a few flakes of snow as I returned home.
