Bull, possibly Red Poll breed, Scottish Highlands

Today’s leg of our Scotland tour entailed a journey from Inverness in the north to Dundee in the east.

The first section from Inverness to Grantown-on-Spey was uneventful but thereafter as we reached high altitudes the temperature oscillated between plus 2 and minus 2 centigrade with snow showers. We followed the A939 through Tomintoul, Lecht and Cock Bridge to Crathie and then on to Braemar where we first stopped to view Braemar Castle and then on into the village for lunch.

After lunch we ventured on a short scenic drive west tracking the valley of the River Dee, an area which afforded some magnificent scenery.

After returning to Braemar, we continued south past the Glenshee Ski Centre through Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus arriving at our Dundee hotel about 3.30 pm.
