This morning, I collected guest from central Glasgow and then embarked on a journey to the island of Islay.

First to Inveraray on Loch Fyne where we stopped for refreshments. This entailed a journey tracking Loch Lomond then through stunning Argyll scenery.

After Inveraray we continued towards our destination of Kennacraig. As we had time in hand we took the opportunity to call in at the coastal village of Tarbert where we called in at a whisky store which specialises in local whiskies, mainly from Campbeltown.

Next, we continued to Kennacraig where we connected with the 1.00 pm ferry crossing to Port Askaig on Islay, duly arriving on schedule at 3.00 pm.

After arrival on Islay we travelled round to Kilchoman Distillery, Islay’s youngest and smallest distillery for tastings (three malts).

After concluding our visit to Kilchoman we returned to Port Askaig and checked into our hotel for the night.
