Hiiking South Ayrshire, Scotland

Hiiking South Ayrshire, Scotland

This evening, I am reporting on yesterday’s small group hike in South Ayrshire, Scotland.

The group covered a 5 mile/9.00 km route through rolling countryside between Maybole and Dunure. This area is famous for Culzean Castle and Turnberry Golf Course. Location is about 45 miles south of Glasgow, close to the Firth of Clyde.

As will be evident from the images herein, weather conditions were dull and overcast.

The group encountered:

  • Local flora.
  • Commercial tree plantations.
  • Farms with cattle and sheep.
  • Rolling green landscapes.
  • Flock of seagulls.
  • Fungi (mushrooms), which flourish in the damp, mild climate.
