Paraglider landing at Glencoe, Scotland

This morning, I collected tour group from Leith, near Edinburgh and embarked on a trip as follows:

  • First, north to Dunkeld where we stopped for refreshments and a break. This is a popular country town on banks of the River Tay plus varied shops.

  • Next, north along the A9 then turn off at Dalwhinnie where we stopped again for a short break.

  • Next to Spean Bridge, where we called at the Commando Memorial. unfortunately, low cloud precluded views of Ben Nevis and other mountainous scenery from this vantage point.

  • Next, south, along the banks of Loch Linnhe. First stop at Glencoe village and then to Clachaig Inn where we were able to view a paraglider coming down from altitude at this stunning location.

  • Next, further up the Glencoe valley for more pictures and vistas.

  • Next, to a main target of Glen Etive, an extremely picturesque location which has been used for filming parts of the Bond film,Skyfall. ┬áThis proved a one hour round trip along a single track road culminating in Loch Etive at the end.

  • Finally, we moved on, across Rannoch Moor, to our final destination of lodgings near Loch Lomond where the tour terminated.
