Bovine hazard on road between Broadford and Elgol with ancient church in background.

This evening, I am posting information on a an interesting backroad trip on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

The route covers a total of thirty miles from Broadford to Elgol and back much of which tracks the edge of Loch Slapin, a sea loch.

The road is single-track with passing places. En-route it usual to encounter sheep and cattle on the road, including the photogenic, Highland Cows.

At Elgol, a small village on coast of Loch Scavaig, can be seen the island of Soay, and the famous Cuillin Hills. From there are boat trips to view the wildlife and scenery.

A rewarding, if somewhat slow trip, where the journey is just as satisfying as the destination.

Most of the trip can viewed in the dashboard video clips shown below.
