William, the resident feline at Rosslyn Chapel

This morning, we departed our lodgings in Ayr, S.W. Scotland and drove N.E. to our next destination of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city.

On arrival in Edinburgh we joined the hop-on-hop-off tour bus for a tour of the city’s sights which included:

  • Grassmarket
  • Royal Mile

Weather was mixed with intermittent rain.

Guests then undertook a shopping expedition down the Royal Mile and successfully obtained Clan Cunningham tartan.

After conclusion of Edinburgh visit we moved on, about 7 miles south to Roslin and the famous Rosslyn Chapel where our visit coincided with the 4.00 pm talk by a local guide, Rosslyn Chapel dates from the 15th century and is richly embellished with high quality carvings in stone. The Chapel featured in the Da Vinci Code.

Finally, we returned to Edinburgh and our lodgings for the night.

Tomorrow we move to St Andrews via the Fife Coast scenic route.
