Today, we had two objectives from our Fort William base: Glen Etive and Oban.

First, to Glen Etive via Glencoe Village and the Pass of Glencoe stopping en-route to photograph the watery landscape at Achnambeithach near Glencoe.

Next, we undertook a 28 mile round trip along Glen Etive which was used in the film Skyfall (James Bond).

Upon returning to the main highway we went to the Glencoe Mountain Centre for lunch.

Next, back to the A82 highway and then south, tracking Loch Linnhe to the ferry port of Oban. En-route we stopped to photograph Castle Stalker.

Upon arriving at Oban we went first to McCaig’s Tower, which sits above the town, to photograph views of the attractive harbour.

Next, through Oban to visit Dunollie Castle which has a long connection with the MacDougalls. This is a good site with museum, the castle itself and a weaving demonstration based on an early 18th century hand-loom.

After 30 mins shopping and exploring central Oban we returned to Fort William.
