Eilean Donan Castle, Dornie, Scotland.

This post relates to trip from Isle of Skye to Glasgow, Scotland on September 21st 2017.

This morning we woke up in Kyleakin, Skye to sound of rutting deer.

First, we drove across the Skye Bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh and a stop to photograph Loch Alsh from a local viewpoint.

Next, on to nearby Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie which ranks as one of Scotland’s top visitor attractions. We stopped here for photographs and refreshments.

Next, east through the mountainous Glenshiel region and past Loch Cluanie then south along Loch Lochy to Spean Bridge then  east, alongside Loch Laggan stopping for refreshments at ‘Yummy Things’ before connecting with the main A9 highway at Dalwhinnie.

On  the way south we encountered an unfortunate delay of 30 minutes due to road construction work and eventually arrived at our next destination of Stirling Castle later than planned. At Stirling guests limited their visit to photographs of the castle exterior before we moved on to final destination of hotel at Glasgow International Airport where the five-day tour concluded in readiness for guests departure next morning.

Weather today was wet and overcast in the west with progressive improvement as we moved south and east.
