Arran Heritage Museum

This evening, I am posting information onĀ Isle of Arran Heritage Museum near Brodick. Arran is an island located off the coast of S.W.Scotland.

The museum is an excellent facility open March-October each year.

Originally the site of a small school, the present group of buildings were a croft (farm) and smiddy (blacksmith), and include a farmhouse, cottage, bothy (small dwelling), milk house, laundry, stable, coach house and harness room. The exhibits reflect the social history, archaeology and geology of the island. Assistance with ancestry research is also available.

Facilities at the museum include picnic area, cafe and gift shop.
