Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire, Scotland

This afternoon, the Catswhiskers team visited the Gleneagles Hotel in central Scotland for a celebratory afternoon tea.

Very briefly, Gleneagles is a five-star luxury hotel with three championship golf courses and a spa set in Perthshire, central Scotland.

Facilities include:

  • The PGA Centenary Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus.
  • The PGA National Golf Academy.
  • The only restaurant in Scotland to hold two Michelin stars.
  • Golf, shooting, tennis, riding, off-road driving, falconry, cycling, archery and fishing.
  • Two hundred and thirty-two luxury bedrooms.

(The name Gleneagles has nothing to do with the king of birds but is derived from ecclesia which is the Low Latin name for church and indicates presence of an early church in the region, possibly dating back to around 500-600 AD.)

The afternoon tea experience was excellent and augmented by sunshine and stunning scenery.
