Rainbow over Staffin Bay

Today was, as forecast, characterised by gale force winds and heavy rain notwithstanding which we embarked on our planned tour of Skye. The weather conditions detracted from some of the sightseeing but we were compensated by a spectacular display of vivid rainbows coupled with the special effect of multiple streams of water gushing off the mountains.

We departed our lodgings in Plockton (on the Scottish mainland) then crossed over the Skye Bridge, passing through Broadford and then first stop Portree where viewed the town and availed of light refreshments late morning.
