Light show at Glasgow Botanic Garden

This evening I attended a spectacular light show at Glasgow Botanic Gardens, which date from 1842 at the current site in the city’s West End. At the heart of this extensive facility are several glasshouses, the most notable of which is the Kibble Palace.

The underlying theme was slightly spooky but with just a nod to Halloween.

Tonight is November 5th aka ‘Bonfire Night’ across the U.K. which celebrates the failure (just) by a group of Roman Catholics to blow up the English Parliament in 1605 with King James and the ruling elite within the targeted building. Although not evident from the images, in the background was an on-going firework display across Glasgow city which added another dimension to the event. Fortunately, the weather was dry and calm.
