This evening, I am focusing on Doune Castle in central Scotland.

The name Doune means hill or mound, sometimes a fortress or castle, which is clearly apposite in this case although the name would long pre-date the castle as seen today.

Tour Guide at Deanston Distillery, Scotland

This morning, I collected guest on arrival at Glasgow International Airport and embarked on a distilleries tour as follows:

  • First to Tullibardine in Blackford, near Gleneagles.This distillery is under French ownership and is in process of a major site expansion programme. Potential output is 3.0m litres p.a.Here guest joined the specialist, Bonded Tour which lasted about 90 minutes and proved to be of high quality.

Bridge of Sighs near Glasgow Cathedral

This morning we departed lodgings in Glasgow’s West End and drove to the city’s Cathedral which dates from the 13th century.
